Minimising environmental impacts

We respect our environment and strive to minimise our environmental impact by minimising our emissions, water and energy consumption. We use ecological detergents.

Made from sustainable materials

Our cottages are built of durable materials in keeping with the building traditions of the old days. We strive to bring out localism, culture and the importance of nature in everything we do.

Raw materials from local nature

We buy local ingredients for our restaurant from local fishermen, reindeer meat producers and natural product entrepreneurs.

We are honoured to say that the berries and mushrooms we use come from the surrounding countryside and are picked for us by local pickers.

We make our own jams and juices for the winter in the cellar and bake our own breads and sweet pastries. This allows us to offer our customers traditional, pure and tasty flavours without additives.

Responsible in nature

Most of our programme services are based on getting out and about in nature. Our activities raise our customers’ awareness of the importance of protecting nature and moving around in a responsible and sustainable way.

Employing locals

Our souvenir shop sells products made by local handicraft entrepreneurs. We support local work: all our employees are local.

As a sign of our work for responsible tourism, we have been awarded the BioSphere certificate and the Sustainable Travel Finland label.
